Once you've used RhinoSaver to grab a high-quality asset, the real work begins. If you're a video editor or a content creator, you know that raw files need a bit of love before they are ready for prime time.
Step 1: Transcoding for Stability
Instagram uses the H.264 or H.265 (HEVC) codec, which is great for playback but can be taxing on editing software. We recommend transcoding your downloaded media to ProRes 422 or DNxHR if you're doing heavy color grading or complex motion graphics.
Pro Workflow Tip
Always organize your assets into subfolders based on the original creator's handle. This makes credit and attribution much easier when you're finalising your project.
Step 2: Mastering the Aspect Ratio
Vertical video is the standard for Reels (9:16), but if you're remixing content for YouTube (16:9), you'll need to get creative. Avoid simply 'stretching' the video. Instead, try **background blurring** or using 'Safe Zones' to ensure your key content stays centered and clear.
Step 3: Audio Normalization
Social media audio can vary wildly in volume. Use a **Loudness Meter** to ensure your final export hits the -14 LUFS target. This ensures your content sounds professional and doesn't 'blast' the user's ears when it transitions from another video.
